Joined-up thinking

I’ve played around with Google Calendars in the past with a view to providing an on-line availability feature for my wedding and portrait websites but never really pursued it very far. It looked like it could be useful but I needed to figure out exactly how I was going to use it. Now I have the Android phone with seamless integration between the phone calendar and Google Calendars it’s very definitely on the agenda once more.

Better still, the phone will synch. multiple colour coded calendars. This means I can have a personal calendar, a QTPortraits calendar, a QTWeddings calendar and a theLightMatters calendar. Each can feed their respective websites whilst being presented as a consolidated, rolled up view via Google and on the Android phone. Further, the User Interface for each allows me to create and edit events (i.e. bookings) from either the phone or the browser and I can share the calendars with Mrs. LightMatters too.

Fantastic, this is just the type of functionality and ease of use I was looking for to manage my business calendar.

But there’s more…

I’ve just found out how to synch. my Google Calendars with my iPad too 🙂

Now that’s what I call joined up thinking and the best part is it just works.
