Shoot and Burn…

Every enquiry I have received this year has resulted in the question “can I have my images on CD?” This will either be instead of the album or as well as the album. Answering “no” has cost me a lot of clients this year already. Hopefully things are about to change…

USBFlashDrive

I’ve reworked my Premier Package to now offer the client a choice of either the album (exactly as before) or JPEGs on a flash drive with an upgrade path to allow them to choose both if they so desire. Full details of the package are available here: http://qtweddings.co.uk/prices/premier-package

What’s the catch? Well, none really. This is just in response to market demands and the package exists exactly as it did before. The only difference is the client now has additional choice. They also don’t need to make that choice until they place their final order. No catch, no additional costs.

How does this affect me? Well, hopefully my conversion rate will improve but my forecast nett revenue will decrease. If the client has hi-res JPEG images they do not need to come to me for reprints and enlargements. At my starting price point of £750 this was probably unlikely anyway. If the client only wants to spend this amount of their entire package they are hardly likely to spend another few hundred pounds on upsales.

Will this harm the business? No, I don’t think so. If anything, increasing the number of bookings this year will be a good thing. It gets my name around the market place and gets me more hands-on experience.

In summary, this is a win-win for all.
