This is something a little bit different: I’ve been given the opportunity to arrange a group shoot in a hot tub showroom. They have dry and wet tubs available and an elevated shooting position from either a spiral staircase or a balcony, looking down into a couple of the dry tubs. Some of them are fitted with mood lights with rotating colours and the wet tub also has an awesome sound system built in. The images after the jump are snaps I took today using a point and shoot when I visited them.
The Nitty Gritty…
The showroom used to be a former car dealership and is a few miles outside the M25. It’s bright, airey and quite spaceous. There is ample parking on site and the local station is about a mile away.
The shooting positions are a little tight so will need wider lenses and tight framing to avoid extraneous objects in the background. The steps into the tub can also be used to give an elevated shooting position and there is space (just) for some strobist gear to light the set. Lighting is most likely going to be lightweight strobist gear as there is only about 3′ between some of the tubs and the wall.
Shooting time would be after the showroom closes for the day and typically on a Thursday, most likely from 4.00pm to 8.00pm
Not sure when this will go ahead, most likely September some time, asuming there is anough interest.
Suggestions for a model to shoot would be most welcome.
BTW – As this is a unique opportunity to gain some shots that are a little different, I’m not going to post where this is for obvious reasons.
