Day 3 was post processing day and I learnt soooo much too. There is a defiinite benefit to be gained from spending a day “looking over the shoulder” of a veritable expert in Lightroom and Photoshop. The tutor was David McNeil. He is an accomplished photographer in his own right and a maestro of post processing. I’d recommend anyone to go and check out his work on his blog.For me it was great to experience an optimised workflow from start to finish. The real eye opener for me was that I wasn’t too far off the mark myself. Watching David work his magic really helped me to join up and link together the chunks and globules of knowledge that I’ve been acquiring through my journey. The biggest take-away from the day though was that my treatment in post is far too gentle and if anything I need to be more brutal.
I’m not going to post any images here just yet – I want to go and try some of the techniques and tricks that David demonstrated first.
To sum up day 3 – totally mind blowing.
