Today saw a new first for me in the realms of social media, but it was one that I very nearly failed to comprehend. In fact, it wasn’t until I was actually driving home after the shoot that it hit me: the entire photo-shoot was arranged and booked using Twitter.
Now that has to be pretty cool.
This clearly won’t be the case for most clients. I don’t for one minute expect that I’ll ever book a bride through Twitter although it isn’t that unlikely the consultation meeting could be arranged in this fashion.
I know a lot of my colleagues pooh-pooh the whole idea of social media but today has really opened my eyes. This definitely is a marketing channel that is worth exploiting further. Indeed I’ll be taking it a whole lot more seriously in future. The problem now though is how to make it happen again and again and again.
BTW, in case you were wondering, the booking was for a Social Media Head-Shot session. There has to be something poetic about that don’t you think?
